Hi, David! > When updating po files I see a "fuzzy" entry about > > vfs/cpio: 361 > > The message seems (to me) to be the same as in vfs/cpio:311. (corrupt x > corrupted). Is there a real meaningful difference or could the be made > the same? If so, could someone fix the new one?
Merriam-Webster OnLine defines "corrupt" (adjective) as: 1 a : morally degenerate and perverted : DEPRAVED b : characterized by improper conduct (as bribery or the selling of favors) <corrupt judges> 2 : PUTRID, TAINTED 3 : adulterated or debased by change from an original or correct condition synonym see VICIOUS Hardly any of those meanings is suitable for an ASCII string in the beginning of a cpio archive. I have no idea why hexadecimal numbers can be "corrupt", while octal numbers in the old style header are in the worst case "corrupted" :-) I'm reverting this change.
