Hmmm. It happens only with UTF-8 locales and UTF-8 capable terminals. I guess
it has something to do with UTF-8 version of MC (not supported here) or maybe
the RedHat supplied S-Lang library or the terminal emulator itself. Anyway, I
think filing this bug report against FC bugzilla would be more appropriate.
