This will only work on certain distributions.  Pretending that you can
have a spec file that works everywhere is a falacy (see Jacob
Berkman's post on this matter on gnome-hackers). 

But basically the problem is that different systems use different
prefixes, different installation paths, have different dependencies
and provide different packages for a single spec file to be correct.
