1. When installing cons.saver, check what group the TTYs belong to, put the exe in the same group and set the setgid flag on it. That is hopefully a reasonably safe way of getting it to work for the world.
2. (A possible config option:) Adjust the subshell system so that the *first* time you attempt to leave a subdir and the subshell might be busy, it throws up a 'subshell busy' warning. That oughta alert people to a possible problem while not over-inconveniencing those that start a task and want to move on to another directory. Reynir H.
