On my box (gentoo) mc.ini is in /usr/share/mc/mc.ini. If I change that file (change the colors, for example) and rm -Rf ~/.mc, the first time I run mc, everything is as expected, but next time I get default values. Shouldn't it be better if mc would "copy" mc.ini to ~/.mc/ini?
