Didn't mc used to show the last line of terminal output when not in C-o mode? It doesn't seem to now. There is an option in the menu to show the last x lines but it says it only works on the native Linux console. Why doesn't this work in an xterm? Didn't there used to be a helper program that ran the subshell on another pty so that mc could capture its output? I can't seem to find any mention of this now.
