PARTICIPATE IN A SOFT CONTACT LENS STUDY One-Month Contact Lens Study Starts
August 25th, 2005

ONE MONTH SUPPLY OF CONTACT LENSES AND LENS CARE SOLUTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED
DURING THE STUDY $40 IN CASH UPON COMPLETION OF THE STUDY

The U.C. Berkeley Clinical Research Center is looking for soft contact lens
wearers to participate in a contact lens study at the end of August.
Participants will be asked to come to our research center for a minimum of
"THREE VISITS" lasting less than 1 hour per visit. Each visit is spaced two
weeks apart over a span of four weeks.

During Visit #1, a brief examination will be performed to verify normal
visual acuity and ocular health. If you are qualified for the study, you
will be fitted with contact lenses. Vision assessment and contact lens
evaluation will be performed to ensure adequate vision, fit, and comfort.
You will then evaluate lens performance by filling out a questionnaire.

You will be required to wear the study lenses everyday during the study
period for a minimum of 6 hours up to a maximum of 16 hours per day, after
which time you will remove, clean, disinfect and store the lenses overnight
using the recommended cleaning system. You will also be given a daily lens
diary to record the lens comfort, vision, and handling.

Visit #2 is a 2-week follow-up. You will fill out a questionnaire regarding
the performance of Lens Pair 1. Vision assessment, contact lens and ocular
health evaluation will be performed. You will be issued a different pair of
study lenses and re-evaluated for proper vision, fit and comfort. You will
then evaluate lens performance by filling out a questionnaire.

You will be required to follow the same wearing schedule and cleaning
regimen as with Lens Pair 1. You will also be required to keep a daily
record of lens comfort, vision, and handling.

The U.C. Berkeley Clinical Research Center is looking for soft contact lens

Participants will be asked to discontinue contact lens wear 24 hours before
their appointment and come wearing their prescription glasses. Each visit
will be about 45 to 60 minutes long.

Doctors will fit participants for study lenses after assessing their ocular
health at the First Visit and have them fill out a questionnaire. After 3
hours of lens wear will be asked to fill out questionnaires on their own (to
be brought back for their afternoon visit). After another 3 hours,
participants will return for their final visit of Day 1, to be reassessed by
the Doctors and fill out a questionnaires.
