SPRING SEMESTER RESEARCH GRANTS FOR BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE MAJORS THE PURPOSE: Twenty grants of $1800 each are available for award to UCB students conducting biological sciences research projects during the academic year and whose financial need would make such work difficult on an unpaid basis. The emphasis of this program in the past has been to increase the number of students from underrepresented ethnic groups and women doing research. However, all qualified undergraduates are encouraged to apply and have an equal chance for awards based on ability and drive. ELIGIBILITY: - A research position arranged prior to submitting the application. - Interest in a career in the biological sciences. - Financial need. - Prior awards do not disqualify nor guarantee awards this semester.
