1. MCB Research form deadline - final deadline February 17

The deadline to turn in the completed MCB 199 Independent Research
Application form will be Friday, February 17, although we recommend that
you turn it in earlier.

RESEARCH IN MCB: Generally students receive 1 unit of credit for every 3
hours of work per week in the lab, up to a maximum of 4 units per semester.
You may not receive MCB 199 credit and simultaneously be paid for research
done in the same lab. MCB 199 must be sponsored by an MCB faculty member,
though the research may be in any appropriate lab. Admission to MCB 199
requires a minimum overall GPA of 2.0, junior or senior standing (at least
60 units) and is restricted to P/NP grades.

2. Early drop deadline - Friday, January 27

the following 13 courses on Telebears. Arabic 1A, Architecture 100A,
Architecture 100B, Biology 1B, Persion 1A, Physics 7A, Physics 7B, Physics

3. 5th week add/drop/unit change deadline - Friday, February 17

L & S POLICY: Midnight, February 17 will be the final day for L & S
undergraduates to add a course, drop a course, change the number of units in
a course, or change the grading option from P/NP to a letter grade. You can
do all of this on Telebears. (No more paper petitions needed.) Again, check
your class schedules regularly on BearFacts to be sure that you weren't put
into a class from a waiting list without your knowledge.

MCB HONORS: The MCB honors program offers exceptional senior students
recognition for outstanding academic achievement and the opportunity to
conduct original research under the guidance of an MCB faculty member.

H196 Requirements: To participate in the MCB departmental honors program,
students must have completed MCB 100 or 102 and one upper-division major
