There are currently positions open to undergraduates wishing to 
volunteer in a clinical research lab at the University of California 
San Francisco (UCSF) based at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH). 
We conduct metabolic studies focusing in the field of lipogenesis and 
gluconeogenesis in relation to obesity and diabetes; as well as 
interests in AIDS-related research.  You will aid in the processing 
of human plasma and urine samples.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated students willing 
to make a commitment to the lab of at least two semesters (summer and 
fall).  You must be able to work for at least 10 hours per week 
during the semester in 3-4+ hour time blocks.  Applicants should be 
aware that all research will be conducted at SFGH, which entails 
considerable commuting time and investment from Berkeley.  The 
position is not paid.
