LAB ASSISTANT NEEDED
Full Time this summer, Part time during the academic year

We are looking for a student laboratory assistant to help maintain
the lab Drosophila (fruit fly) stocks. We are interested in finding
someone that will continue working through the academic year. This is
a part-time position of ~12-20 hours /month, with flexible hours.
Additional work is available during the summer for a total of ~30-40
hours/week. You will assist a graduate student researcher by
preparing double-stranded RNA for RNAi in Drosophila tissue culture
cells, you will also help transfect and analyze RNAi treated cells.
Students that help maintain fly stocks in the lab are given priority
in other research projects and undergraduate research opportunities
that arise. This position provides an opportunity for science majors
(MCB) that want to gain experience in the laboratory while also
earning money by helping to maintain our fly stocks.

Laboratory experience is necessary, 2nd and 3rd year students are
preferred. This is a paid position.
