Job announcement

1 position open for administrative/research assistant; will be responsible
for assisting the research team/researchers with aspects of the field study
phase of a public health research study involving older adults and physical
activity.  Main duties include administrative tasks, data entry, study
participant follow-up, recruitment of study subjects, obtaining informed
consent, interviewing subjects, administering a test of subjects' functional
abilities (e.g. arm/leg strength, balance, walking speed), and explaining
study procedures as needed.  Training in Microsoft Access, survey methods,
human subjects protection, and functional assessment provided.

Qualifications: good communication skills, personable, detail-oriented,
organized, ability to work independently, responsible, data entry
experience.  Experience with older adults and/or research helpful.  Social
welfare or public health major a plus.   Must be eligible for work-study.
Local travel required-must have access to car; will be reimbursed for
mileage.  Position is full time during summer with possibility of continuing
part-time into the next semester.  Start date: ASAP.  $14/hour.  Please send
