The SRA will be assisting with studies investigating mechanisms of brain tumor formation with an emphasis on developing molecular therapeutics. This position is intensive in benchwork, and careful technique and record keeping are critical skills. Common techniques used in the laboratory include: maintenance of mammalian cell lines, viral transfection, viral purification, cloning, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy, work with mouse models of brain tumors. The SRA will be working directly with the primary investigator, and there will be opportunity for publication. The skills and experiences acquired from this position could provide a useful background for future pursuits in medical and/or bioscience graduate school. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to two years. Required qualifications: experience in mammalian tissue culture/sterile technique
