2. Cal in Berkeley Student Internship Program

Dear Student,

Since you showed interest in the Cal in Berkeley Student Internship
Porgram at this years Calapalooza, we are sending you this email to
inform you about the program. Priority applications are due September
18th but we will be accepting rolling applications until the end of
September. Info session will be held September 15, 21, and 22nd in
West Madrone, in MLK at 5:00-5:45. There will be free food!!!

The Cal in Berkeley Student Internship Program offers UC Berkeley
students the opportunity to intern with local government and
nonprofits through project-based internships. Don't be confused and
think only social sciences are needed for these positions. Along with
social sciences, all skills and majors are needed!! In addition,
students participating in the program will partake in an enriching
2-unit weekly seminar that offers time to reflect on internship
experience along with professional skill building. These positions
are not direct service internships or boring administrative jobs, but
instead focus on policy creation, policy research, program design and
non-profit management (including marketing, fundraising, strategic
planning, etc.). While you discover the many ways in which you can
contribute to your community and bring about action on the issues you
care about, your Cal in Berkeley experience will provide you with
valuable real-world work experience and important skills which will
complement your education at Cal and assist you in your career goals
no matter what your major.
