*Apply to the Health Service Internship (HSI) program!*
*
*
The Health Service Internship (HSI) program is a 3-unit, P/NP semester-long
program that places students in internships with health-related community
and non-profit organizations throughout the Bay Area, with emphasis on
public health. Past internships have ranged across a variety of interests,
including but not limited to internships with youth mentorship programs,
resource centers for cancer patients, and refugee health organizations.
Intern duties can also vary and are determined by the organizations and
their needs, and interns can gain exposure to methods such as direct
service provision, health education campaigns and public policy/advocacy,
to name a few. Coupled with the internship, students actively learn about
major issues in the field of public health in a weekly discussion section.
This class offers the intimacy and confidentiality necessary to approach
public health from an unbiased, holistic angle.

HSI is now accepting applications for interns for Spring 2014.
Please email hsicoordina...@gmail.com with any questions you may have.
Applications can be found at
http://hmap.berkeley.edu/<http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fhmap.berkeley.edu%2F&h=SAQF6VIFw&s=1>
.
Applications are due no later than 5 pm on Thursday, October 31st in 112
Hearst Gym, Station 17.

Resources and support services are also discussed. The policies addressed
include grading option changes, exceptional change petitions for those with
extenuating circumstances, withdrawals, requesting incomplete grades of
instructors, and planning for next semester (repeating courses, requesting
reduced study lists, readmission if the student decides to withdraw).

The dates are as follows:

Tuesday, October 29 3:30pm-4:30pm, 262 Evans Hall
