The Life Sciences Division at NASA Ames Research Center is looking 
for someone who will be graduating from Cal by May 04, or who has 
graduated in the last 24 months to fill a payload scientist position. 
We have a very small time window to fill this vacancy, so we need to 
receive resumes from interested applicants by 11/14.  As a federal 
government agency, we can only hire U.S. citizens.

Job description - Payload Scientist:
Development and integration of life sciences experiments assigned to Shuttle 
Transportation System Small Payloads Program.  Participates in mission development and 
implementation, and flight operations of the payload. (BS, MS, PhD in Biological 
Sciences or Bio-Chemistry)

Skills:
  >A minimum of a BS in Biological Sciences.  Lab experience in cell and molecular 
biology, particularly working with model specimens such as yeast, drosophila and 
nematodes a plus.  Experience working as a member of a team. Requires good written and 
verbal communication skills

Tasks will include:
- Providing mission science planning, development and implementation for flight 
experiments.
- Providing technical and scientific direction, advice and review of contractor work 
for the implementation of life science experiments flown on board Free Flyers, Space 
Shuttle and the International Space Station.

- Analysis of the constraints associated with the various flight
  >platforms and risk that a successful science experiments will be
  >performed.
