Hey everyone! This is nothing serious- so first relax. :)

I just wanted to let you know about an opportunity to get involved with HIV/AIDS
issues. CHAANGE (California HIV/AIDS Advocacy Network Grassroots Evolution) is a
grassroots alliance of regional Chapters made up of individuals, families, and
organizations that advocate on behalf of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
The group strives for ultimate change in HIV/AIDS public policy through education and
grassroots efforts, focusing on funding and policies that guarantee acess, care and
treatment, and prevention services that positively impact persons living with HIV/AIDS.

CHAANGE does much work to educate state government by organizing local "lobby days"
that entice communities to come together to support or reject legislation in the
California law and budget process. After local trainings, the individual chapters
send volunteers to Sacramento in April to meet with legislators as a united force to
affect CHAANGE. Two main topics of focus for the organization are the need for state
and federal funding to sustain the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and HIV/AIDS
Prevention and Education funding.

Me and two other fellow CHAANGE members will be tabling on the Berkeley campus on
Monday, November 21, 2003 from 11 AM- 1PM along Sproul Plaza. So even if you are the
slightest bit interested, please come by and talk to us. :) Or just stop by to say
hi- because I havent seen some of you guys in awhile. If you can not make it but
still are interested- call me or email me. My number is 510-898-5213. Take care and
hope to see you on Monday! :)

ps feel free to forward to anyone you think might be interested

Love always,
Jen Han
