Experience developing BI applications in COGNOS BI 8.3 and higher. b.. More than 7 years of overall hands-on experience in Cognos BI development and administration. c.. Expert in data modeling and warehousing More than 5 years of Hands-on with SSIS, including distributed operations and data warehouse ETL process flows. d.. Working knowledge of VB Scripts and other programming languages. e.. Experience in migration from 7.2 to 8.3 and higher versions are a plus. f.. More than 3 years of writing queries using SQL Server 2005 - Software development life cycle methodologies and deliverables. g.. Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or its equivalent. Experience in designing, developing, and testing applications in multiple system environments. Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design solutions for the application environment. Understands the various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. Can design an entire system configuration including hardware, software, and communications. Can lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. Can work with various platforms, including mainframes, minis and micros. Can define a total disaster recovery plan and present the client with various options. Applies, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction/workflow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods, and performance measurement techniques. Provides technical direction to personnel performing systems analysis and system/ subsystem development tasks. Coordinates and performs logical and physical systems design.
