Provides recommendations for application and system improvements. Has a strong 
software development knowledge using a variety of technologies.  Works with 
peers, senior staff, and business analysts to create project specification and 
determine implementation details. Performs risk/benefit and feasibility 
analysis on potential future projects.  Expected to participate in complete 
project lifecycle up to and including project completion.  Participates in the 
development of software user manuals. May act as team leader on less complex 
projects. Assists in training less-experienced software development staff.  
Ability to work well within a team as well as provide 24x7 support on rotating 
pager duty is essential.  

They are looking for someone with 3 years of experience, even though the 
description reads like a more senior person.  I am verifying the programming 
languages involved but most likely its C# and ASP.NET

Target pay rate $55/hr c2c

Responsible for designing and developing new software and / or web products or 
major enhancements and fixes to existing products for the Marketing and Sales 
organizations primarily responsible for the Dividend Miles frequent flyer 
system.  Acts as a technical expert, addressing problems of system integration, 
compatibility, and multiple platforms, as well as mentoring junior programmers. 
 Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting complex issues and implementing 
solutions.  Provides recommendations for application and system improvements.  
Has a strong software development knowledge using a variety of technologies.  
Works with peers, senior staff, and business analysts to create projects 
specification and determine implementation details.  Performs risk/benefit and 
feasibility analysis on potential future projects.  Expected to participate in 
complete project lifecycle up to and including project completion.  Ability to 
work well within a team as well as provide 24x7 support on rotating pager duty 
is essential. 

Detailed Description   

Design, review, analyze develop, implement, and maintain complex software 
applications and services

Understand system software architecture to ensure decisions meet long term 
enterprise growth needs.

Maintain current applications which includes, but is not limited to, bug fixes, 
feature enhancements and performance tuning.

Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identify and implement solutions.

Migrate .asp user application to .NET technology.

Lead and mentor less senior developers

Work with team to create detailed project specifications, requirements and 
estimates.

Ensure tasks get completed on time and within scope.

Work with production operations department to ensure deployments roll out 
smoothly and customer group support is met

Research and implement new technologies to enhance current process, security 
and performance

Document validation of design decisions.

Develop and enforce policy and procedural changes within the development group.

Develop to coding standards and adhere to best practices and security 
guidelines.

Participate in leading code reviews.

Job Requirements: 

Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Engineering/Technology or related 
field or equivalent experience

10+ years total development experience

4+ years Web Application experience

Extensive knowledge of object oriented programming

Extensive knowledge of common data structures and algorithms

Extensive knowledge of design patterns and best practices

Ability to scrutinize applications and services to ensure they adhere to 
security standards.

Loyalty systems or travel/hospitality industry experience a plus 

Willingness to guide and willingness to learn

Demonstrated project management methodology experience, including technology 
delivery methods

Excellent verbal and written communications 

Airline business system knowledge - a plus 

Expert with C#, XML, HTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS and other web development 
technologies required.

Expert in .Net web services, WCF, WF and applications 

Experience with COBOL Mainframe applications, JCL, Stored Procedures

Experience with DB2 SQL and Mainframe systems architecture 

Experience with ORACLE PL/SQL

Experience with UNIX and Kornshell required

Knowledge of PCI Compliance/ OWASP standard

Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) a plus
