Location is Pleasanton, CA Bill rate is $60/HR **Local candidates preferred** Server System Administrator The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards. This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Build and Implementation phases. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from build staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle. Required Skills: This individual is accountable for the following platform/system: HP Servers / Microsoft Windows 2003/2003 R2 and 2008/2008 R2 with the following skill set: 1. Self-starter that requires minimal supervision and can provide oversight for any assigned projects 2. Working knowledge of SQL-Server, Microsoft server and client Architecture 3. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Local Policies/Group Policies 4. Knowledgeable on deploying OS Images using HP RDP 5. Windows Clustering 6. RAID Configuration 7. Veritas backup Software 8.
