*DESCRIPTION: *

We are looking for a technical, results-oriented, and quality-focused
individual with strong data warehouse and business intelligence architecture
skills. This individual will ensure the long term reliability, scalability
and maintainability for a large scale, multi-application enterprise data
warehouse. They will play an active role in data architecture, tools,
processes, project assessment and development process design.



The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer is responsible for configuring BI
architecture and leading the development/implementation effort for the BI
application components of data warehouse (DW) solutions provided to Client
healthcare customers.  This individual will assist with the design and
implementation of data warehouses, data marts, and data stores that meet
diverse reporting requirements, provide high levels of data availability and
ensure customer satisfaction.



*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

·         Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and
operation engineers to ensure the creation of production-quality designs and
implementations

·         Guide project efforts through all stages of the development
lifecycle

·         Work directly with customers to translate business requirements
into functional application specifications and logical data model
requirements

·         Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures
for DW solutions

·         Define and direct the information access and security
requirements/protocols for DW solutions

·         Define and direct the business metadata capture and access effort

·         Ensure DW schema designs, BI application designs and report
designs work to achieve optimum performance

·         Create and manage technical plans, documentation and task lists
for BI solution components

·         Present technical solutions to customer/business audience

·         Design, construct and implement BI application solution components
-- models, packages, ETL programs, reports, dashboards, scorecards and
analytic value drivers

·         Configure and administer BI tools used in DW solutions

·         Identify and streamline routine processes

·         Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance
issues

·         Manage multiple tasks and changing business requirements

·         Assist in the development and implementation of various strategic
initiatives around data quality, data profiling, metadata and data
architecture policies, standards and governance

·         Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and
operation engineers to develop and document a solution/technology roadmap
and promote best practices

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

   - BS/BA in computer science, informatics, engineering or equivalent
   combination of education and experience
   - Proven success as a BI architect (5+ years) in a large (preferably
   multi-terabyte) DW environment
   - In depth understanding of DW and BI concepts and product development
   - Experience (5+ years) in data warehousing, data design and business
   analytics development including the following:

Ø  Specification and delivery of BI projects with commercial data
integration and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects)

Ø  Analysis of complex business processes preferably within the healthcare
domain

Ø  Working with business stakeholders to understand current and future
requirements

Ø  Leading data architecture/data modeling on multiple full life cycle data
warehouse/BI implementations

   - Knowledge of SDLC methodologies
   - Experience managing development resources
   - Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, OLAP and one or more
   RDBMS (preferably Oracle on Unix)
   - Strong knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and
   techniques (ERD, normalization, dimensional)
   - Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills with respect to
   report design, SQL, and ETL processes
   - Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical
   issues to non-technical audience
   - Adept using Microsoft Office, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
   Access and Visio
