Position Requirements:
- IP Networking technologies (i.e., IP Protocols, IP Routing, Vendor
Platforms)
Thorough understanding of IPV6 specifications and its implication
and impact on Network Operations (Provisioning, Care, Assurance)
- IP-based Enterprise Services (i.e., VPN, BVoIP, Direct access to
Internet, Ethernet, PPP, access mechanisms),
- Network Operations modeling (i.e., Network Care, Customer Care)
- System Engineering (i.e., Software Engineering, System
infrastructure, WebServices, XML, GUI, Database technologies)
These positions are for Systems Engineering for the Network Provisioning
Applications which is a critical resource need for the Layer 2 & Layer 3
Network & Services Provisioning projects. These SE positions are critical for
successful delivery of numerous business critical programs such as AVPN,
Ethernet, Network Evolution, etc., which are highly dependent on the Network
Provisioning Applications.
These positions require close partnership with the Network/Labs
organizations, the Network Care organization and the System Development and
System Test teams; therefore good teaming and interaction skills are
essential. Please note that these positions are responsible for developing
architectures; the definition of the structures of an IT solution to a business
problem. They must be proficient at the techniques that go into the formulation
of architectures, including requirements discovery and analysis, application of
abstraction, formulation of solution context, solution alternatives
identification and assessment, technology selection, and architectural
configuration. This requires practical skills and experience with many
application and infrastructure (operational) products, technologies, and
services. Beyond the core the skills, the candidate must also be proficient in
the use of modeling techniques, such as use case, scenario modeling,
prototyping, benchmarking, and performance modeling to describe the problem
space, to size the solution and to validate that the proposed architecture
addresses the business requirements. Required to maintain an in-depth base of
IT industry knowledge to advise on technical trends and techniques and apply
them to the development of solution designs.
