Hi.

Please let me know do you have any consultant for this requirement

This is a large Windows OS migration project, XP to W7, involving thousands of
desktops.

Desktop Engineer with packaging experience

Vance, AL

Duration - 4 months

Rate - $40/hr all inclusive

We need someone who has had at least 1 - 2 years of being in a package
analyst/development role with Windows 7 and/or Vista (which has many of the
same program structures as 7). Vista was released January 30, 2007, so any
experience in packaging before Vista was released doesn't really help us.

Desktop Engineer (Packaging)

Position Overview:

1. Work with departments to identify / track "unpackaged" applications they may
have. Work with the departments, and internal IT people, to ensure that
licenses have been purchased for the applications, escalating when not so

2. Test the applications with Windows 7, escalate any applications that have
difficulty running in Windows 7. Search for newer versions of the applications
that are "Windows 7 friendly" and ask the user if the newer version would be an
acceptable substitute to the existing version they use.

3. Identify applications for potential to be packaged. If approved, then
proceed with the packaging process

Document the installation process, make requests to the License Competence
Center and the Global Packaging Lab for packaging, test the installation and
deinstallation of packages provided by the Global Packaging Lab, coordinate
user testing of the package with the test PCs, notify Packaging Lab of accepted
packages, adopt the package into our SCCM environment (once it is ready,
estimated to be in 4Q 2011).

Required Skill sets:

1. Packaging analysis / programming skills and experience - while the person
doesn't necessarily need to have full-blown "programming" knowledge / skills,
this person needs to know how applications install on Windows 7.

For example:

a.. the difference between "machine parts" and "user parts" of an
application, and how the OS manages them, "USDM" concepts (User
  b.. Settings and Data Management)
c.. familiarity with registry keys and how "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" keys apply to
all users on a machine, and how other registry sections like
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER" and "HKEY_USERS" hold user keys
d.. familiarity with roaming profiles in an Active Directory environment,
what part of the profile roams and what doesn't
e.. knowledge of group policy objects

2. Project / time management stills - ability to identify track multiple
applications across multiple departments, coordinate testing times with the
users

- Familiarity with Microsoft SMS/SCCM software inventory reports would
be "nice to have", as we could use such reports to identify applications and
their users

3. People skills - able to work with users to identify their applications and
test them
