The Architect or Lead is responsible for developing architectures; the definition of the structures of an IT solution to a business problem. b.. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software. c.. Expertise in handling solutions involving transfer of large volumes of data betweeen database systems. d.. They must be proficient at the techniques that go into the formulation of architectures, including requirements discovery and analysis, application of abstraction, formulation of solution context, solution alternatives identification and assessment, technology selection, and architectural configuration. e.. Determines software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. f.. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. g.. This requires skills and experience with many application and infrastructure (operational) products, technologies, and services. h.. The Lead Technical Architect must also be proficient in exercising technical leadership which requires the ability to accept responsibility for the success of the architecture of a project, coordinate resources that are often not directly under their control, and provide the support necessary to ensure overall success. i.. Required to be an expert in the understanding of architectural principles and their implications to system design, securability, system extensibility and interoperability, costs, and operational considerations. j..
