The Software Engineer must have experience in leading presentation layer technologies and be capable of applying best practices in UI design in software development efforts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: At a minimum, the duties of the Software Engineer will include: a.. Work with the customer and contractor technical teams to effectively design and develop systems supporting biomedical terminology management b.. Provide hands-on expertise in presentation layer technologies c.. Apply software best practices in presentation layer design and development such as modular development, enhanced usability, and portability to multiple platforms and devices Job Requirements: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years of experience in software development with hands-on expertise in presentation layer technologies. Knowledge in the biomedical field is desired. JOB REQUIREMENTS Candidates must possess expertise in the following technical skills: - Java, JavaScript, Java Server Pages (JSPs) and JSP Standard Tag Library (JSTL), Ajax, Struts, Model View Controller (MVC) Paradigm, SQL, Hibernate, Spring Framework, Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Section 508 Compliance Additional desired technical skills include: - Perl, Python, Mobile Development (Java 2 Micro Edition-J2ME, iPhone, Android, and iPAD devices), Portal Development, Wiki Development, Velocity, jQuery, Relational State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Web Services, Ant, JUnit Candidates must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact with stakeholders in the biomedical research community.
