*SQL DBA Houston,TX 3 year contract* *Essential Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years SQL Server Development Database Administration experience is required. SQL 2008 R2 experience required and experience with SQL 2012 is a plus. Proficient in SQL Server Management Studio, Profiler, BIDS Experience in setting up, configuring and managing Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, SSAS is required. Microsoft SQL Server Database Design and Building Certification is preferred. Data modeling and design experience (Normalization, Cubes, etc.) is required. Experience with data modeling tools (i.e., ERwin, ER Studio) is required. Strong understanding of relational database concepts and vision, with proven ability in unifying data across disparate databases. Strong communication skills are required. *Development DBA:* The Technical Team will be responsible for collaborative design and development of an enterprise class multi-tier architecture, supporting both short and long-term rationalization and development initiatives for Liquids Commercial Systems. The Team will work to drive continuous improvements, consistency, and supportability throughout all development initiatives, ensuring alignment with IT Management/Program Office and Best Practices. The Development Database Administrator (Dev. DBA) will support the Technical Team in all database related development tasks and activities. The Dev. DBA will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SQL Server environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security. The Dev. DBA must have in-depth skills in SQL Server database administration, Windows operating systems, TSQL programming, relational database design, problem solving, and communication. *Roles and Responsibilities:* Setup, Configure, Administer and Maintain: SQL Server 2012 Instances SQL Server Analysis Services SQL Server Reporting Services SQL Server CDC Administer, maintain, support, optimize, and monitor multiple SQL Server database environments (i.e., Dev., Unit Test, User Acceptance Test). Plan and implement database software upgrades including but not limited to new installations, critical patch upgrades, maintenance releases, and version upgrades. Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of the databases in accordance with IT Security and Sarbanes-Oxley adherence policies. Setup and Configure SQL Server High Availability. Work with Technical Team and internal DBAs in designing and implementing a high availability solution, with a database infrastructure that takes into consideration backup/recovery strategies, in-data center redundancies (i.e., clustering, hot standby), multi-data center syncing (i.e., clustering, Availability Groups), and design considerations for disaster recovery.
