MUST HAVE GREAT COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS Clinical Business Analyst Orange, CA. This Business Analyst will act as the coordinator of all system upgrade and remediation activities for all systems across the organization. The analyst will work with the ICD-10 program team to meet all objectives of the ICD-10 engagement to transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 procedural and diagnostic codes. Requirements will include all aspects of the technical and operational work-plan, including system and process remediation, communication, hardware assessments and technical documentation. The analyst will collaborate with the ICD-10 PMO Governance and assist in developing and managing the ongoing project budget, Technology work group work plan, managing issues and risks, as well as communicating to various levels of stakeholders within the scope of the ICD-10 program. In addition, this individual will be responsible for creating and managing ICD-10 measurements for the Technology work Group as it relates to remediation (Plan, Build, Test and Implementation), testing, and conversions deliverables to insure an on time ICD-10 compliance date. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . Provide expertise and consultation to the ICD-10 work groups for system configurations and workflows . Oversee the downstream systems which interface with Cerner to mitigate the impact of sending ICD-10 codes . Ensure test scenarios are adequately documented and perform testing as needed . Direct the implementation of organization's wide technology upgrade strategy . Lead the activities required to execute organizational wide technology remediation strategy . Work with other ICD-10 work groups to support development, testing, and implementation of new technologies (CAC tools, GEM mapping tools, etc.) to support ICD-10 . Participate in the RFP process and working with vendors to select system solutions . Work directly with the IT PMO Project Manager to ensure appropriate resources are assigned to the project and are delivering in conjunction with the projects scope, schedule and budget . Maintain the technology work group project schedule and performs weekly updates against a base lined schedule, incorporating progress data from all vendors, internal and external resources . Ensure that all technology work group team members understand the deliverables and activity dependencies and ensure adherence to the project schedule by all project participants . Proactively identifies changes in work scope and ensures appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external clients to reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: . Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Health Care, Business or other related areas or equivalent experience . 7+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience . 5+ years of detailed project experience for healthcare IT projects. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: . Expert knowledge level of the core functionality of Cerner Millennium modules (Powerchart, Powerchart Office, PharmNet, Charge Services, Person Management, Scheduling, ProFit), noting key integration points, interface engines and bolt-on applications . Advance knowledge of 3M encoder and SoftMed abstracting systems . Experience with Meditech, FMS and NetGen. . High level of understanding of HL7, eGate and Cloverleaf. . Intermediate knowledge of Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project and SharePoint. . Extensive experience providing technical documentation. . Excellent understanding of healthcare processes and procedures . Knowledgeable about project management tools, techniques, and process . Skilled in working effectively with individuals in all levels of an organization . Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical personnel. . Ability to exercise considerable individual judgment and initiative in conducting the necessary operations within the program. . Ability to manage people, time and resources. . Good organizational and problem solving abilities. . Ability to prioritize effectively PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: . Prefer B.S. or M.B.A. degree - Prefer PMP Certified . Understanding and experience with healthcare industry highly desirable. ICD 10 experience is highly preferred . ICD-10 Certifications by AAPC or AHIMA highly preferred . Must have anunderstanding of ICD-9 coding structure and standards, as well as solid working knowledge of how ICD-10 changes will impact systems and program stakeholders .
