*Job Description:*
The Welfare Reporting and Tracking System is a server-based system
which provides a statewide repository for case, individual and payment data
which provides the means for OTDA, along with its partner agencies and
local social services units, to maintain, monitor and track the Federal
requirement of a 60-month limitation of benefits; produce State and Federal
mandated reports and audits; ad hoc reports and data used for performance
monitoring and strategic administrative analysis..
* Duties will include:*

* 1) Participate in all phases of system development activities:
requirement gathering, design, development, testing and deployment by the
following items:
a) Written reports of user requirements are thorough and complete.
b) Modifications adhere to prevailing standards, are thoroughly tested and
completed on schedule. Programming tasks may be done in Cobol, Java , SQL+
or Perl.
c) Standard migration processes across multiple environments are followed.
Migrations will use NetExpress, JBoss Developer or agency standard.
d) Maintain system documentation including functional and detail designs.
2) Investigate and respond, via phone and emails, to questions and concerns
from the WRTs' user community regarding existing systems and proposals for
enhancements.
3) Assist with monitoring daily operational processes by reviewing the
results posted in daily log files and resolving any anomalies. Respond, via
phone and emails, to any reported problems or concerns from Production
Control’s staff. Must be reachable during non-business hours to resolve
critical problems.
4) Work effectively with other team members to insure the success of all
projects assigned to the work group. This will involve sharing solutions to
common problems as well as coordinating activities with overlapping time
schedules.
5) Be able to perform some responsibilities of other staff members, on an
as-needed basis, such as attending meetings and monitoring job schedules
and results.
*Candidates should have at least 60 months experience, and at
least one of the following should apply:*
Experience performing application development work utilizing Microfocus
Net Express or Micro Focus Cobol
Experience performing application development work in Oracle PL/SQL and
SQL using Oracle 10g or Oracle 11i against a very large database containing
over a billion rows among more than 300 tables
Experience performing application development work using Perl to
manipulate files and create batch executable scripts under the control of
Tivoli Workload Scheduler. Experience should be comparable to a production
schedule of 75 jobs
requiring 110 hours of processing time per week.
Experience performing application development work on a durational
database system which maintains historical data, demographic and financial,
in a very large database containing over a billion rows among more than 300
tables
