*Position:* Developer II *Position-Specific Skill:* Ab Initio *Desired Start Date:* 11/4/2013 *Desired Education Level:* Bachelors *Job Description:* - Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other IT departments, i.e., Security, Database Administrators, etc., to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. - Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) input to fellow IT staff on “workability” of designs, architecture, and testing. Researches and recommends solutions to client requirements, as needed - Provides scope, sizing and estimates time required to complete code and provides this information to the product manager for input to the project plan. Determines impacts and integration points. May participate in capacity planning with project manager or functional manager - Translates specification document requirements into code. Creates or modifies code for complex system designs. Ensures code complies with BCBSF architectural and SDLC standards. - Write detailed technical design specifications (TDD). Ensure sufficient quality and compliance of documentation to architectural standards - Interfaces with external vendors and customers through crosswalk mapping with different and often complex architecture - Perform Unit Testing and Prepare Code for Release to Testing Team. Analyze Defects Found in Testing and Fix Coding Errors - Coordinate Activities with Others on All Phases of SDLC - Assist with Production Support issues/problems as required. Respond to and resolve production support issues *Job Requirements:* - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ IT or equivalent work experience - 5 or more years' experience coding and documentation protocol as well as unit testing, change management and release procedures - Experience with SDLC, product development methodologies, database design concepts and integration strategies. - Expert knowledge and experience of System Development Life Cycle, product development methodologies, database methodologies and system integration - 5 or more years of experience programming using Informatica, Ab Initio, Data Stage or SSIS ETL tools. - Experience using Quest, Toad or Data Studio in a UDB DB2 database environment - Programming experience using SQL or similar query language for Oracle, DB2 z/os, UDB DB2 or SQL Server. - Advanced demonstrated proficiency and experience with AIX/Unix or IBM mainframe operating systems - Experience using versioning tools such as Rational Clear case and TFS - Experience using standard desktop applications such as MS Office Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio. - Solid experience with technologies, systems, subsystems across multiple platforms. - Experience with file transfer protocols SFTP and FTP. - Experience mentoring or leading other programming or development staff. *Number of Openings:* 2 *Maximum Submittals:* 2 *SKILLS* · Ab Initio,Strong,2-5 years,0-1 years ago · Data Warehousing,Strong,2-5 years,0-1 years ago · SQL,Strong,2-5 years,0-1 years ago · Unix Shell Scripting,Strong,2-5 years,0-1 years ago *ADDITIONAL SKILLS* Not Required but a plus. - Programming experience using Micrsoft .Net; experience building web services using WCF architecture - Experience w/Ab Initio toolsets such as ACE, BRE and Metadata H *“Recruiting is made easier with JobPencil.com” * JobPencil.com – is the leading technology job portal which connects the Employers looking to hire highly talented professionals and the candidates looking for right opportunities and employers.
