Technical Experience: * Experience in Database engineering projects and Production Support * Will be responsible for engineering and administering MS SQL 2012 systems in both clustered and non-clustered environments * Ability to manage SSIS, analytical and reporting services. * Ability to design, implement scalable architecture and support large database implementations and data warehouse * Strong knowledge of SQL, Windows and scripting * Strong analytical & problem solving skills. * Knowledge of data migration, data archiving and data access techniques. * Preferably be able to develop other types of systems like LAMP, ASP.net etc. Leadership: * Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences * Must demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and develop associates * Must be extremely flexible due to the changing priority of project initiatives * Must be a team player and possess superior interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills * Must have great attention to detail in planning and documentation * Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure * Ability to work in a remote team environment # of Years Required: 8+ years *Preferred Skills:* Experience with Six-Sigma, LEAN, & ITIL concepts is a plus Experience in the brokerage industry/financial background is a plus MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Administration Big Data knowledge including NoSQL. Any other Database or related technologies Required Education: 4 Year College Degree required Graduate degree preferred *Description:* This position is responsible for evaluating the impact of decisions relating to databases, providing recommendations to management and demonstrates expert knowledge in several database management products. The role will be involved with multifunctional database projects, DBMS upgrades, disaster recoveries, migrations, backups, optimizations and various database engineering initiatives. * Provide expert guidance in database technologies for all internal application development. * Operate independently with minimal guidance supporting development teams * Operate independently with minimal guidance and handle client facing support. * Will be responsible for engineering and administering mainly MS SQL Server database across multiple Windows platforms * Will be responsible for engineering and administering mainly MS SQL 2012 Infrastructure in both clustered and non-clustered environments * Be able to develop web based reporting and/or tracking systems based on LAMP, ASP.net etc. * Must have experience in problem diagnosis and resolution, database automation and a working knowledge of operating systems and storage technologies. * Subject matter expert in data design and DBMS and will be consultant to various database projects. * Must be a team player with ability to operate independently * Ability to partner with application team members and create a good harmonious relationship Database Engineering (50%) * Design, Engineer and Manage MS SQL 2012 systems in both clustered and non-clustered environments * Design, Engineer and Manage advanced features in SQL like- Replication, High Availability, Performance Tuning etc. * Design, Engineer and Manage SSIS, Analytical and reporting services * Provide leadership in database technologies for internal application development as well as client facing support. * Manage technical action to resolve bugs/issues with DBMS software. * Participate in implementing database strategies and solutions. * Develop best practices and standards for various databases solutions * Develop scripts to automate database administrative tasks. * Develop various stability initiatives (KPI, CSF's). * Able to write technical documentation. Continuous improvement (15%) * Enhance and Support existing automation processes for change control of databases * Hands on day to day maintenance of development databases across multiple database technologies for multiple development teams. * Resolve alerts initiated by automated monitoring processes (backups, log files, etc.) * Provide outage resolution support and perform Root Cause analysis to resolve recurring database issues. * Service requests from customers. * Develop and support both VM and standalone systems Projects (15%) * Database system upgrade to MS SQL 2012 * Database Patch Management * Solutions development using various windows based reporting systems preferably using web based tools * Generate database engineering project plans and subsequent progress reports ( including appropriate size, timeframe and technical requirements) * Developing always-on systems in MS SQL 2012 * Develop and maintain Replication, Backup and recovery including DR systems Change Management, maintenance and support (10%) * Provide disk space analysis and database growth reports. * Enforce database change control standards with assigned teams. * Perform troubleshooting of all databases and database related environments (not limited to prod only) * Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems. * Provide back tier support for databases * Ensure RDBMS availability and integrity on 24x7x365 * Provide after hours and on-call support as required.
