Desired Skills: DBA experience with additional databases, such as SQL Server, Redis, Mongo DB; also strong SQL skills The Senior Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) is *responsible for enterprise-wide administration* of one or several of the Data Base Management Systems (DBMSs) including, but not limited to: *Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis*. Responsibilities include database administration, architectural design, and strategic direction for either Operational OLTP. Guidance to less experienced DBAs for ongoing process improvement is also emphasized. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. *JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:* •DBA responsibilities: - data modeling, design & implementation based on established standards - Software installation and configuration - database backup and recovery - Database connectivity and security - Performance monitoring and tuning - Disk space management - Software patches and upgrades - automate manual tasks - conduct database training - Backups and recovery - provide on-call support & troubleshoot technical issues QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience EXPERIENCE: •5+ years DBA experience with multi-gigabyte OLTP or multi-terabyte databases •Database design and data modeling background required •Experience in database performance tuning required •Experience in database backup and recovery required •Experience in database upgrades required •Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support •Experience in developing new and enhancing existing standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs * IMPORTANT SKILLS:* •Experience in relational database technology including data modeling (logical and physical) •Strong understanding of SQL in accessing and manipulating data •Strong understanding of system architecture. •Understanding of UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems •Strong understanding of general programming concepts •Advanced analytical and problem solving skills •Experience with the following software required: • UNIX shell scripting •Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL •RDBMS development procedures, packages, triggers and functions •Experience with the following software desired: - Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c - PRTG Monitoring - BMC’s Recovery Manager for Databases (aka SQL BackTrack) - AutoSys Job Scheduling Tool •Exposure to Business Intelligence tools (MicroStrategy, Hyperion IRS query and reporting tool) •Application Development experience preferred -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MCMS" group.
