Title: Sr. Oracle DBA Consultant L3 posted on 2014-05-08 23:39:21 Job Description:*Responsibilities:* Ø Provide support for the Oracle Database environment. Ø Available to work normal dayshift hours, and be able to support off hours as required by project workload and available change windows, and occasionally participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation during go-live and hyper-care periods Ø Install and maintain Oracle Database environments and associated components, Oracle Database related tools and utilities, both Oracle Database and third party products. Ø Keep release and maintenance levels current as need in the project space Ø Design and implement database backup and recovery for the Oracle Database Ø Implement projects to customize Oracle Database software to support the customer. Ø Provide infrastructure technical support to the customer Application Development and Application DBA organization. Ø Provide technical support to Data Center Operations Ø Provide technical justifications software upgrades Ø Work closely with hardware and software vendors regarding problem resolution and regarding new products and services. Ø Monitor Oracle Database systems as to performance and reliability while in the project phase. Provide management reports regarding the Oracle Database as necessary. Ø Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for Oracle Database environments Ø Obtain a general knowledge of all software/hardware components of the customer IT systems. *Requirements:* Ø B.S. or equivalent Ø 10+ years hands on experience Ø Experience with Oracle RDBMS Version 9g, 10g & 11g Ø Hands on experience on Grid Infrastructure (ASM) and Database installation/patching/Cloning/Management and general Support Ø Database upgrade and path on cluster and standalone environment Ø Ability to work in fast paced, constantly changing environments and able to manage multiple environments Ø Hands on experience with high availability architecture using and administering Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) and its various components Ø Hands on experience in Real Application Cluster single node and multi nodes using administering Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) Ø Working knowledge on Data Guard and physical stand by database Ø Expertise in troubleshooting issues around oracle apps environments Ø Experience Shell scripting experience Ø Expertise in backup and recovery methods using RMAN and TDP Ø Experience in Lan free backup using RMAN and Block Change Tracking feature Ø Expertise database performance tuning and provide solution online while loading high volume of data Ø Expertise using and administering the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12C suite, including various utility and application plugins Ø Experience OEM integrated with BMC Ø Excellent communication skills and consistently high performer in meeting business needs Ø Ability to understand technical direction Ø Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations *Additional Areas of expertise would be considered a plus:* Ø Informix Database Ø SQL Database Ø DB2 Database Ø IMS Database.
