An ideal candidate will be extremely proficient in both Microsoft and VMware servers and comfortable in adapting to new technologies. They should be comfortable interfacing within a team environment, responsible for all aspects of systems administration including design, implementation, and trouble shooting of more than 110+ servers. Further, the ideal Systems Engineer will have strong communication skills, is a true team player with a commitment to success, has leadership skills and will be able to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly- changing environment. · Overall responsibility to help plan, design, implement and troubleshoot a large Microsoft · Windows and VMware server and desktop environment. · Microsoft and VMware server administration. This will include account administration, capacity planning/administration, and backup and restore administration. · Desktop and server hardware and software installations, maintenance, and upgrades. · End-user support for both hardware and software related issues. · Problem reporting and tracking in AHD (CA Advanced Help Desk). · Understand authentication and access management technologies. · Utilize in house remote control software to accurately and quickly resolve all Server and · PC software, application and OS issues. When remote control is not acceptable or · adequate, provide Tier 2 support for problem resolution. This includes all Microsoft products as well as third party and custom developed ARC applications. · Creating, deleting, modifying, and providing permissions in Active Directory environments and performing troubleshooting of Exchange issues. · Providing on-call support for Windows infrastructure which consists of carrying an on- call pager and following rotation schedules. · Provide hardware and software asset management through control of inventory and compliance. · Accountable for the information technology assets as related to Microsoft and VMware servers, software and desktop computers. *Required Technical Skills:* · BA/BS in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; however stellar work experience and Industry Certifications in place of degree may be acceptable · Position requires MCSE Certification · Minimum 5+ years of hands-on system support / engineering/administration experience is required. · Successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of work experience supporting Microsoft and Citrix server, VMware, Windows XP, Vista, NT and 2000 clients, Exchange Server, and other desktop products such as Microsoft Office suite. · Knowledge VPNs, RDP, Windows Remote Assistant, Radmin, and other supports tools are required. · Must have a complete working knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP protocols and be able to support communications software that will use such protocols. · Must also have a strong understanding of network topologies and common components, demonstrate a diverse set of good communication skills, and have experience seeking, supporting, and building mutually productive work relationships. · Interface with ARC vendors and maintain these relationships in support of ARC hardware and software products and services. · Maintain an inventory of installed hardware, software and related documentation to ensure compliance. · Maintain an inventory of installed hardware, software and related documentation to ensure Corporate and PCI compliance. · Systems administration and maintenance of complex, multi-platform, data center environment. · Knowledge of data centers, including environmental controls, security systems, backup power systems, system monitoring, management policies and procedures, and physical · organization. · Ensure the integrity of all system and data backups and the implementation of effective controls and processes for securing systems and customer sensitive data. · Develops and maintains accurate data center architecture and procedures documentation -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MCMS" group.
