*Keys to the Job*
Must have Enterprise Experience and be hands on, preferably from a
Financial Services firm supporting as many as 3000 desktops
Must have MDT and OSD with SCCM build experience.
Exp with VB Script or Powershell is a must.
Could be doing packaging and/or Distribution on occasion.
The Candidate should have a good understanding of Active Directory and
Group Policies.
*Technical Proficiencies:*
· Discipline to adhere to formal system lifecycle methodology
· Strong Background in the following areas:
- Windows *2008 *server experience preferred
- *Win7* Desktop
- VBScript or Windows PowerShell
- Image builds experience using OSD & MDT with SCCM
- Knowledge of SQL a plus (in relation to SMS & Citrix databases)
- WMI
- SMS or Altiris
- Understand Networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, Network
Security)

Other useful proficiencies:
· MCSE, EE (for in-depth analysis and proactive vs. reactive approach)
· Microsoft desktop technologies
*Job Summary*
This role will be part of the desktop engineering team responsible to
architect, design, and implement solutions for client technologies. This
includes formally designing large migrations and new technology efforts in
addition to being a senior technical resource, providing day to day
packaging and 3rd
level support. We are a global firm and our solutions must address domestic
and global needs.
The client technologies include Microsoft desktops/laptops/Citrix
servers(desired)/peripheral devices/software, PDA's, etc. The team also
engineers tools and software for client technologies such as anti-virus,
Microsoft Office, Visio, support tools and procedures, software packaging,
and software distribution. You must have strong hands on experience
designing, configuring and managing via GPO the Windows desktop operating
systems to host a variety of domestic and global applications with optimum
performance. You will need to package/script and use automation to manage a
large number of PC Clients and Citrix servers. Strong knowledge of SMS/SCCM
is desired. Strong accountability, analytical, organizational and
communication skills are a must.
Requirements gathering and analysis to provide design and architectural
recommendations
Research options providing functional and technical written evaluations of
products and operating system upgrades and patches
Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures
Create desktop/laptop/citrix build processes for domestic /global sites
utilizing MDT
Create and communicate systems and application standards
Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
Package software and design distribution methods
Perform software distribution and patch management to Windows PC's,
laptops, and Citrix servers
Maintain relevant and current knowledge and be a leader, within assigned
technical fields
Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and
provide timely and clear updates
Submit weekly status reports and timely project status/scorecards
Create and lead configuration management processes, while following all
change management guidelines.
Perform post-implementation 3rd level support, identifying root cause with
strategic solutions to problems



Job Requirements: *Job Qualifications*
Experience deploying and supporting large scale O/S migrations and
introducing new technology based on business needs and industry standards
Solid foundation designing and implementing distributions with Active
Directory, SMS/Altiris for the full lifecycle with diagrams, workflow
Visio's, support documentation and training, presentations, etc.
Resource Kit level knowledge of Win7
Ability to work independently without intensive oversight - must be a
go-getter and take initiative on a regular basis finding ways to avoid
problems proactively rather than just fixing them after the fact
Initiative and ability to research problems independently, finding root
cause
Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training
and written documentation
Strong inter-personal skills
Positive customer service and team attitude (helping others when required)
