The contractor selected will be responsible for The Bureau of Workers’
Compensation’s (BWC) Infrastructure support, assisting on the Core project,
and serve as backup to staff as additional resource on special projects
where applicable.
PLEASE NOTE THE START DATE. It is March 2, 2015, please make sure your
candidate will be available then.
The contractor selected should posses Enterprise Senior Data Center
experience involving systems/network administration in large server farms,
the knowledge to set up of new physical/virtual environments, having the
ability to perform hardware/software upgrades, knowledge to implement
security guidelines, and ability to provide performance tuning to systems.
The person will work with the Build/Systems team to provide this
functionality and infrastructure system support.
Technical Certifications:
• VMware Certified Professional 5- Data Center Virtualization
(VCP5-DCV)
• VMware Certified Professional 5- Desktop (VCP5-DT)
• Microsoft Certified Professional
Hardware experience:
• IBM SVC
• Brocade Switches
• Hitachi HUS 150 disk subsystems
• HP MSA 1000 storage arrays
Other experience:
• Experience in managing and leading IT projects
• General Knowledge of networking and security. This includes
VLANs, switching, and firewalls.
• Knowledge in cyber security and security practices
• Network experiences with designing, configuring, and operating
network switches and routers
VMware Experience:
• Minimum 5 years working experience with multi-tiered applications
running on VMware vSphere
• Senior Architectural Design and implementation experience
• Knowledge and ability to manage virtual desktops
• Senior Admin experience and expertise in managing multiple
Datacenters, Clusters, Hosts
• Expertise in VMware Windows, Unix, Solaris, and Linux operating
systems
• Managing ESXi 4.x, 5.x w/ vCenter and Update Manager, Remote CLI,
PowerCLI
• Vmware networking with Virtual Distributed Switches (including
Nexus 1000v)
• VMware storage configurations(NFS, fiber channel, iSCSCi)
• DR solutions and business continuity solutions
• Vmware Security (following Vmware hardening guides)
• Monitoring and Performance troubleshooting
• Skilled in documenting systems and procedures.
• Ability to provide a direction for Infrastructure upgrades and
future enhancements
Microsoft Experience:
• Minimum 5 years experience designing and administering Windows
Server environments (2003, 2008, 2008R2, 2012)
• Active Directory experience
• SCCM/SCOM
• Group Policy management
• DNS administration and configuration, and DHCP administration and
configuration.
• Familiar with IIS configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiar with database technologies (Oracle, SQL)
