*UNIX/Linux Systems Engineer*
*Mechanicsburg, PA*
*6 months*

*MUST HAVE:*
· Bachelors Degree or higher
· Linux *certification*
· *Systems Administration Experience with Linux and HP-UX operating
systems *
· *10+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure environment*
· *10+ years of Linux Engineering/Administration*
· *2+ years of experience with Linux servers and SAN storage
devices (EMC SANs Desired)*
· Solid understanding of Enterprise Linux and best practices
· Solid understanding of Linux monitoring and tools
· Solid understanding of Linux security best practices
· Solid understanding of Oracle on Linux, including Oracle RAC
· Perl scripting experience
· Veritas File System management
· Ensuring backups are sufficient for complete system recovery
· Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
· Ability to calmly resolve high risk situations
· Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of
responsibilities
· Writing Skills – reports, proposals, white papers
· Ability to handle multiple tasks
· Must be detail oriented, committed to deadlines and have solid
verbal and written communication skills
· Work with vendors to ensure maintenance coverage for all relevant
servers and equipment
· Utilize tools for continuous system monitoring of system resource
utilization
· System maintenance including backups, operating system
installations and upgrades, etc.
· Ability to follow established Change Control processes
*NICE TO HAVE:*
· EMC SANs experience
· Veritas Cluster Software experience
· CommVault experience
