*Role: Senior database Engineer* *Location – Washington, DC* *Duration – 6+ Months* *Interview Process – 1st phone / 2nd face to face (Skype is an option)* *the candidate must have excellent DB2 UDB/LUW experience and have worked on large (terabytes) databases.* *They need to have Q-Replication experience. Someone with DB2 installation, performance and excellent replication experience.* *I would prefer a IBM Certified candidate* Tasks: 1. Provide day-to-day database support for the CCTI/CCP data warehouse environment 2. Assist with troubleshooting of system and application performance related issues and recommend fixes. 3. Provide support for data replication between production site and disaster recovery site 4. Provide support for performance testing the CAE and CCP applications 5. Other duties as assigned. Skills: 1. Ability to work off-hours and weekends when necessary 2. 3 – 5 years of hands-on DB2 UDB experience in an AIX environment 3. Realistic, practical, real world database administration skills/experience 4. Experience reviewing SQL to address performance problems 5. Strong Unix skills ü Command line processing ü Reading, writing, executing, troubleshooting user scripts 1. Microsoft Office experience in, at a minimum, Outlook, WORD, Excel 2. Comfortable receiving instructions from lead DBA and then working independantly 3. The internal drive, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to help the customers succeed 4. Strong technical skills 5. Comfortable working under Project Manager supervision 6. Ability to work proactively 7. Experience, from a database perspective, dealing with Websphere Application Sever, HTTP Server, MQSeries and Cognos 8. Understanding of database backup processes and recovery processes 9. Experience with Q-Replication 10. Experience in Performance monitoring/testing COGNOS applications 11. Experience with DPF (Data Partitioning Facility).
