Hi Kristin, we installed a dozen touch screens in our new wing for Art of
the Americas last year, most of which were NEC 2690WUXi and 3090WUXi
monitors with 3M capacitive touch panels integrated (single touch only).
They are compatible with Windows, and using 3rd party drivers, Macs as well.
Of course this is a system where the screen is separate from the computer,
but if you can afford it, such a system allows for future
upgrade/replacement of the individual parts.
The NEC monitors are very high quality, and have been reliable so far. I
recommend not installing these in metal housings, since our metal cases are
pushing the touch sensors to their limits of EMI compensation, though they
still work well.

We also have an HP touchsmart running one interactive, and though the
performance of the computer doesn?t give us a great frame rate in the flash
application, it has also been reliable. Another problem with the touchsmart
is that it can?t (as far as we can tell) be scheduled to turn on and off by
itself, so it runs 24/7 with a daily scheduled restart.

Hope this helps, good luck!

We will be purchasing a touchscreen computer for a game interactive in our
exhibit gallery. We are looking more a model with at least a 23-27" or
larger monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to purchase?

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Kristin Mravinec
