*About the Job*
THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO seeks a leader that will direct the
implementation, application development, integration, and on-going
maintenance and support of systems supporting the Museum?s collection and
exhibition programs. This individual will provide technical expertise,
visionary and architectural oversight, and software programming support for
applications utilizing various technologies such as 4D, Drupal, PHP, MySQL,
HTML5, Java, etc. The Director will design, develop and manage integration
architecture for sustainable dissemination of collection and exhibition
assets and information. Specify technical requirements and guidelines for
projects utilizing external programming staff. Will manage system requests
for application enhancements and insures that proper resources are
allocated and prioritized. Will also ensure a sound technical
infrastructure is maintained on all servers supporting collections and
exhibitions. Work closely with the department of Digital Information and
Access on project development, scope and user support needs.

This position supervises 3 Senior System Analysts and 1 2-year special
projects position.

*Requirements*
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE a BA; Master?s Degree in a related field
preferred. Additionally, the candidate will have worked within an
environment with complex integrated systems dealing with the storage,
publishing and syndication of information, metadata, as well as digital
image and media assets. Having experience with museum collection management
systems is highly desirable. The candidate should have demonstrated
leadership and collaboration. Preferably, the candidate has previously
managed professional technical staff.
