The creator of tinyurl.com happens to be from our neck of the woods.  
We had a local blog/tech seminar recently where he attended and said  
he plans to keep the shortened URLs around forever. Here's an article  
where it is mentioned:

Can't speak for the other services, but tr.im did eventually find a  
way to keep it's urls working.
