Web Producer
JWA is making radical changes to its website, and the Web Producer will
be the key person in implementing these changes. This is a unique
opportunity to learn new technologies as we bring our website into the
Web 2.0 world and beyond.
Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain site content, including features, lesson
plans, and regularly scheduled updates;
* Take an active role in planning the addition of new RSS feeds and
other new interactive features;
* Prepare and improve HTML e-letters;
* Help plan and implement the transition of content out of current
tables-based static web pages to CSS-based, database-backed
open-source CMS;
* Assist Program Directors and Development staff to implement
web-based programs;
* Work on special projects at the direction of the Director of
Internet Strategy;
* Perform ongoing testing, monitoring and evaluation of site functions.
Qualifications:
* A passion for producing high-quality content;
* Bachelor's degree required;
* At least 2 years experience with XHTML/CSS;
* Familiarity with at least some of the following (and a strong
desire to learn more): Photoshop, Audition, Flash, video editing
and preparation for online presentation, JavaScript, XML, AJAX,
Drupal (or other CMS);
* Knowledge of blogging/content management software, PHP or other
scripting language, and version control software a plus;
* Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the
ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy office environment;
* Previous experience in the nonprofit sector, and an interest in
Jewish women's history, strongly preferred.
We are located in Brookline, accessible to the MBTA "C" and "D" lines
and the #66 bus to Harvard Square. EOE.
