Salary range - $3,961.53 to $5,053.53 per month
Hours - 35 per wk
 
This position has a comprehensive benefits program.
This position ends March 31, 2009, with the possibility of extension.

Duties
-Reporting to the Manager, Collections/Digitization Program, the Web 
Applications Developer is an integral part of the collections management 
digitization team that provides development and support for the University of 
Alberta Museums' information technology initiatives 
-Develops and maintains searchable web interfaces, web portals and custom 
applications for the University of Alberta Museums' collections database 
-Monitors and supports the University of Alberta Museums' web site 
-Develops and supports custom scripts to automate certain functions of the 
digital collections management process 
-Creates and maintains databases 
-Ensures that all completed projects are world-wide web standards compliant 
-Maintains other departmental custom web applications as required 
-Collects and monitors web stats 
-Other related duties as required 

Qualifications
-BSc in Computing Science or equivalent combined with knowledge of advanced web 
programming and application development 
-Excellent working knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, Oracle 
8i or higher, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and higher, and Microsoft Access 
-Knowledge of HTTP protocols and experience with XML 
-Working knowledge of web accessibility and usability standards 
-Experience with SQL Plus, Visual Studio.NET, and SQL Enterprise Manager 
developer tools 
-Knowledge and experience with Flash, Adobe Photoshop, C#, AJAX and Java would 
be an asset 
-Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and time management 
skills 
-Meticulous attention to detail 
-Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to client service and 
a professional and positive approach 
-Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with others?
