Job Summary
Participates in all phases of the software development cycle. Works
closely with user community for problem definition, requirements
analysis, solutions development, and support. Understands the technical
environments under which the software will run. Translates requirements
into systems design specifications. Designs, develops, codes, tests,
troubleshoots, debugs, and supports new software or implements packaged
software solutions. Participates in the development of software
documentation and user manuals. Designs and develops application
integration solutions.
Must be proficient in all phases/functions of the software development
cycle.
Major Job Responsibilities
* Provides technical support for critical digital asset management
software package
* Develops custom enhancements and integration solutions as needed.
* Understands and resolves complex software problems
* Interacts with users, other technical professionals, vendors,
managers across multiple user groups
* Assists in developing test strategies and solutions
* Monitors and responds to user support related activities
* Captures and analyzes requirements and interprets them into
technical solutions
Qualifications
* Bachelor?s degree in a related field.
* 3+ years software development experience
* Works in team setting effectively and collaboratively
Technical Knowledge
* Solid understanding of digital asset management systems
* Experience with a variety of rich media formats such as photography,
audio, graphics, and video.
* 3-4 years hands on experience with JAVA or similar object-oriented
programming language
* Prefer 1-2 years experience with procedural programming language
such as Perl or C.
* Experienced with UNIX operating system environment preferred
* Foundational knowledge of Jboss and JSP Servlet or other web
development tools
* Skilled with uses of XML / XSLT and XMP
* Takes direction and priorities from project manager / application
manager
* Prefer experience working with large sets of multilingual data
* Interest in library sciences, thesaurus construction and/or the
arts, a plus
* Experience with integrated development environment (IDE) such as
Eclipse, a plus
