Hi everyone, There is another alternative for those of you in Perian's situation. It's not as easy as staying at the conference hotel, but there are a lot of decent hotels around O'Hare airport that are running between $189 and $230 on hotels.com. A train runs from the airport to downtown, and only costs about $2 each way.
