There are resources available on the AAM website in the information
center. Since your museum is an AAM member you have access to this
information. Once you log in to the AAM web site follow this path:
Museum Resources > Information Center > Mission & Institutional Planning
> Information Technology > Technology Plan Development.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [MCN-L] Developing a technological plan

Hi everyone:

The Magnes is going to be moving in a couple of years and currently
we're working with the design planners and architects to define the
structure and layout of the new museum, but no one has said anything
about how to incorporate technology! As I am the defacto techie on staff

(ha!), I think it's up to me to start the process of developing a
technology plan as soon as possible.

Does anyone know of any good resources to help me develop a technology
plan, especially for museums who do not have dedicated technology
directors or support on staff? Has anyone been through this process or
have been in a similar situation who might be able to give me advice as
to where to start, or roadblocks you encountered, etc., etc?

Thanks so much in advance!
