Planar makes a great multi touch LCD screen called the Cleartouch http://www.planar.com/products/desktop-touch-screen-monitors/24-inch/pt3285pw/ .
It recently was installed in the Object Stories gallery at the Portland Art Museum and has been working great. Their screens are 32", but Planar might make a smaller model if that's too large.
