Dear Beate, I am sure you're aware of this, but just to make sure - the Collections Trust maintains the 'Collections Management Software Survey', an online platform which allows you to compare features, functionality and pricing for 17 SPECTRUM-compliant Collections Management Systems (systems that have been validated for compliance with the international SPECTRUM standard for Collections Management - www.collectionslink.org.uk/spectrum).
The platform is widely used by museums during their procurement of systems. It is free to use and available online at http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/softwaresurvey. There's also a useful report from Edinburgh City Museums in Scotland about their recent procurement of a new system, which provides an interesting insight into the selection process.
