provides connectivity to its high-speed, low-latency research and education
network, CalREN, for public research institutions, state
universities, K-12 school districts, public libraries, private universities,
and to a small number of museums and cultural institutions. In the Bay Area,
two private non-profit organizations, the Exploratorium and SFJAZZ, are
connected and are experimenting with ways to use this advanced network in
exhibits and programs.

Rob Rothfarb, Online Project Director at the Exploratorium, and Chris
Goodheart, CENIC's Community Outreach liaison, will present an overview of
CENIC, CalREN and CalREN's connectivity to other R&E networks world-wide, as
well as case studies of use of the network for museums and cultural
organizations.
