At the Museum of Science we culminated a year-long search process for a new
Enterprise System (ticketing, access control, e-commerce, self-service, etc.)
and ultimately decided to bring along fundraising and membership to build a
true enterprise system.

We had a lengthy RFP and list of requirements and ended up bringing two
finalists onsite for days of demos, resulting in us choosing Tessitura for our
needs. We're just beginning the implementation process and I have to say I've
been extremely impressed with Tessitura as a company, their business model,
project management skills, and their inherent knowledge of our industry and
business processes.

That said, we have some very complex business processes and significant volume
(1.6 Million visitors per year), so we needed a solution that was very strong
in constituent management as well as ticketing, and flexible for API-based
applications. Tessitura hit all of the above for us.

If you're truly just looking for ticketing/admissions applications there are
likely a variety of other platforms that may suffice your needs, but I can't
recommend strongly enough looking at a holistic approach to your enterprise
needs when replacing such a system. It's a great opportunity to think about
how all systems interact and if there's opportunity for improvement around
business processes and information flow.

Happy to share our thoughts around issuing the RFP and soliciting vendor
responses, and reasoning for why we ultimately went with Tessitura. Feel free
to reach out for more detail & good luck in your search!
