In Minnesota, we're lucky to have this organization: http://www.pcsforpeople.com/ I would hope that there is something similar near to you. You might even consider contacting PCs for People to see if they know of other organizations doing similar work. Some other things to keep in mind: - Caution over software licensing and proprietary data: make sure to reformat or remove + destroy all hard drives - Staff disclosure: staff will want to take old computers home themselves, but it's generally a bad idea in terms of tax implications and potential support issues - Cost: many salvage companies will want to charge you to remove your equipment; these charges might be negotiable, so push hard and/or find a service that is free - Document: all serial numbers, hard drive destruction/certification, tax receipts, expenses, written contractual agreements, etc. - Make sure that Accounting and Legal are totally on-board before doing anything!
